Montech and its water slope - Segway activity Midi-Quercy
Strong points
After the handling of the Segway gyropod, the site will reveal an original French realization and first in the world conceived by the engineer Auber, the water slope.
Since 2009 the water slope of Montech does not work anymore but has been rehabilitated since January 2020 and allows visitors to discover how the device worked.
You will start on site with your instructor by learning and handling your Segway.
It will take only 10 to 15 minutes for you to feel comfortable on your Segway.
Let's start by joining the banks of the canal in direction of the small marina then we will cross the canal by borrowing a wooden bridge to continue towards the forest which we will discover by traversing its paths.
We will join the canal of the two seas to take the direction of the slope of fresh water or you will be able to appreciate the work of "AUBER" "the slope of water", you will discover then the 2 engines which allowed a barge to climb "in its water" like an elevator the some 120 meters to be traversed before continuing its way.
You will discover the old paper factory before joining our starting point with the photos and videos that you will have captured during the walk.
